Behind the Scenes: Cartoon Network Collage Illustration
One of the things I love most about illustration is the ability to mix nostalgia with creativity—and my latest project is doing exactly that! Right now, I’m working on a hand-drawn collage of Cartoon Network characters, and it’s been such a fun process.
This piece is all about celebrating the shows that shaped so many childhoods. From the bold personalities of The Powerpuff Girls to the quirky humor of Ed, Edd n Eddy and the adventurous spirit of Dexter’s Laboratory, these characters each carry their own energy and style. The challenge—and the fun—comes in blending them all together into one cohesive composition while keeping their unique personalities intact.
To start, I sketched each character individually, then arranged them into a collage layout that feels dynamic and balanced. Using references is key here, since each character has such a distinct style. The goal is to create something that feels both true to the originals and unified as a single piece of art.
I can’t wait to share the finished illustration soon—it’s a colorful, lively reminder of how art can bring together memories, stories, and joy all in one drawing. Stay tuned for updates!
